A
little bit about us
We would
like to welcome race car drivers and fans to
the Freedom Speedway. My name is Troy
Shuknecht. Along with my wife, Lisa and two
sons, Tim and Brandon, we look forward to
promoting the Freedom Speedway. We live in
Elba, a small town north of Batavia. I’ve
owned and operated a fabrication and machine
shop for over 30 years. I’ve also owned and
operated a family farm for over 15 years.
Currently I own a trucking business. In the
mid 90’s , I raced 600 Sprint cars at
Limerock Speedway. I remained an avid race
fan throughout the years. In the past few
years, I’ve sponsored a local modified race
team. Looking forward to meeting you and
forming new friendships in a family
atmosphere. With the support of the racers,
fans and the community, we hope to bring
back racing to the local area.
A
little bit about Freedom Speedway
After a few
year’s off and with working with Mike
Lauterborn, our family has decided to run
the well maintained facility. With the help
of Ed Carley & Doug Jones we found the
location of the original clay. We have
purchased clay from Clay Bed Rd., the
original quarry. We also would like to thank
Steve & Martha Thomas, owners of the quarry,
for their donation of additional clay to
help the track out. Also a huge thanks to Makowski Excavating. and Mark Cole, owner of
M&T Trucking, for their help with the
excavating and trucking of the new clay.
Fingers crossed that we have an early spring
so we can get it put down. We also would
like to thank Ed Carley for introducing us
to the RUSH SERIES Late Models and Vicki
Emig & Mike Leone/ Directors of Sweeney
Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model
Series. They have been a great help with the
weekly shows and the touring Series show we
will be having. We invite the local
community and surrounding communities to
come have fun and experience a night of
exciting racing! Freedom Speedway will be
racing on Friday nights. Classes are 602
Sportsman Modifies, RUSH Late models, BRP
360 Late models, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks
with 6cyl , Bandits and special events RUSH
Late Model Touring Show, NDRL Super Late
Model Touring Show, Vintage Cars, Patriot
360 Sprint Tour ,Ontario Topless Sprint
Series and 600 Winged Sprints. Also a ESP
LUCAS TRUCK & TRACTOR PULL and a MONSTER
TRUCK event are being scheduled. AIR MX
will be running MOTO CROSS events May 25,
June15, July20, Aug17, Sept 7, Oct 12, on
the back MOTO CROSS TRACK:

Rain
Policy
Mother
Nature at times, does not cooperate with our
racing program and will surprise us with a
sudden rain shower. In the event a shower
does occur, the flagman will stop the races,
as the racing surface gets too slick for the
drivers to control their cars. If it’s a
slight shower, racing will continue as soon
as track prep and officials decide that the
track is safe. When it rains to the extent
that the program cannot be continued, the
following rule will apply:
If half the
races ( including qualifying) have been
completed, rain checks will be VOID and will
constitute a full race. Thank You For Your
Cooperation,
Troy Shuknecht
